The nature of this research is highly multidisciplinary. We have assembled a team of students from diverse educational backgrounds: material science, electrical engineering, bioengineering, mechanical engineering, and chemistry. Together, new knowledge and understanding as well as intellectual property will be generated.

Dr. Muharrem Acerce (Research Specialist)
Muharrem has a M.S. in Material Science from the University of Pennsylvania and a Ph. D. in Material Science from Rutgers University. Muharrem's hobbies include: photography, cooking, and hiking.
Vipawee Limsakoune (Graduate Student):
Vipawee has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and an M.S. from Chulalongkorn University in Thailand. Research Interests include nanomaterial synthesis, energy delivery and storage. Vipawee enjoys reading and playing all types of sports.
Katerina Nikolaidou (Graduate Student):
Katerina has an integrated B.S and M.S. in Physics from the University of Bristol, United Kingdom and a M.S in Sustainable Energy Futures from Imperial College London. Her research interests are metal oxide nanostructures for transporting layer in perovskite solar cells; luminescent solar concentrators using peroskite thin films. On her free time, Katerina enjoys reading, exercising, and dancing salsa.
Ian Hill (Graduate Student):
Ian has a B.S. in Biology from California State University, Stanislaus. He is interested in researching the synthesis and deswelling kinetics of Poly(N-isopropyl acrylaminde) for applications of mechanical force .In his free time Ian likes to weight lift, play piano, and guitar.
Carlos Ortuno (Graduate Student):
Carlos has a B.S in Chemistry from San Jose State University . His research interests include carbon nanotube and zinc oxide nanowire synthesis for applications in energy storage and oxygen reduction. Carlos enjoys cycling, backpacking, and gaming.
James Rosenberg (Undergraduate Student)
James's hobbies include: photography, cooking, and much more.
Derek Brigham (Undergraduate Student)
Derek's hobbles include: reading, cycling, and cooking.
Robynne Paldi (Undergraduate Student)
Robynne's research interests include materials for space applications, nanotechnology, 2D materials synthesis and applications, and biomimetics. She enjoys going to the beach, spending time with her six corgis, sailing, horseback riding, amateur astronomy, and reading historical fiction.
Victoria Arias (Undergraduate Student)
Most of Victoria's spare time is spent singing and playing many instruments, mainly the cello, ukulele, and piano. She also enjoy reading books, especially memoirs. Lastly, Victoria loves to dedicate her time to take leadership roles in organizations on campus like Society of Physics Students, Society of Industrial and Applied Mathematics, and Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers.
